How to use the CGPA Calculator
Enter each semester GPA and the credits completed in that semester. The calculator weights semesters by credit load.
Formula / calculation logic
CGPA = Σ(Semester GPA × Semester credits) ÷ Σ(Semester credits).
Worked example
A 3.5 GPA over 15 credits and 3.8 over 18 credits gives a cumulative GPA of about 3.664.
Important notes
Some institutions calculate CGPA from individual course grades or apply repeat-course rules. Use your institution’s official method when it differs.
Frequently asked questions
Is averaging semester GPAs enough?
Only when semesters have equal credit weight. This tool uses credits to avoid that error.
Is the result an official transcript value?
